The design concept is born of the regional culture of Xiamen, and adopts the design idea of “garden and city on the sea, people in the garden city”. Facing the sea with spring blossoms, you can have a panoramic view of undulating hills, interconnected lakes with reflections of clouds, and dotted islands scattered all over like stars on the vast waters; distributed like tightly knotted stitches along the curved coastline, they bound Xiamen up into a book of hills and sea. While the ingenious combination of Chinese and Western elements is the highlight of the architectures in Xiamen University, the building complexes also reveal obvious Western features. When the original classic texture of buildings is added with light-classic details and scholarly elements, the academic atmosphere of the university is perfectly conveyed. The postmodern industrial structures transmit a calm sense of modernity, and, when integrated with light-classic style, they fully embody the concepts of advancing with the times, combining Chinese and Western elements and merging ancient and modern styles. There are also the flavors of coffee filling up the entire space, passing on the unique exchange culture of Xiamen University. The whole hotel is like a time-honored book, and, walking into this space is like opening this book to expose yourself to the rich cultural atmosphere of this university.
