Lake Meibei is located in the southwest of Xi'an. The landscape design of this aquo-system restoration project aims to restore and reproduce the historical culture of the locality. This water-centered project is to drive the development of the region as a whole. A Chinese pastoral landscape image with the artistic conception of poetry of Tang and Song dynasties is created by the restoration of historical sites and renewal of ancient villages in the vicinity of three waters, which are called the Water of Life, the Water of Culture, and the Water of People. The Water of Culture is located in the north plot of land which is abundant with historical sites and planned for historical tourism and ancient town based commerce. The Water of Life is located in the north plot of ecological resources land and is planned for ecological wetland experience and Zen-based health preservation. The Water of People, which is located between and connects the above two waters, is planned for recreation, sports, and cultural entertainment. The water system is restored in 4 steps: zoning and restoration; constructing wetlands capable of purifying rainwater and floods and hydroelastic wetland parks; wetland landscape design; storage, purification and recycling of water resources.
