Hushu Ecological & Hi-Tech City, Nanjing
The project, located at Hushu Town, Nanjing, is positioned as a thousand-year-old motherland of culture and a technology-based pastoral city. It aims to build an urban spatial structure featuring "a cross corridor, a core, two rings, and multiple nodes". Cross corridor: the Beihe cultural landscape belt in Jurong connects the new and old city's core areas and the main green corridors on the south and the north represent the new city's development direction. One core: the core area; two rings: the integrated vigor ring and the beautiful countryside ring; multi-node: multiple urban nodes including headquarters, R&D, Willow Lake, Southbank Culture, pastoral community, etc. The design of the core area covers several areas including the urban core, cultural waterfront, Yangbanqiao Bridge, etc. The new Yangbanqiao Bridge preserves the texture of the original pastoral region of rivers and its architectural style exemplifies the graceful romance of the watertowns in Jiangnan (the southern Yangtze River area). The core area ememplifies the brand-new impression of the new Hushu with a modern architectural style that is on the basis of the traditional texture of cultural waterfront.
