Kunming Baisha Reservoir, Yunnan
The 12.6 square kilometers project site is located in Baishahe area of Kunming and surrounded by mountains in the north and the east. The land available for construction is about 6 square kilometers. The design objective is to build the site into an international portal for Southwest China, a model tourism new area of Kunming, a functional core of eastern new town, and a cultural and ecological waterscape town. A concentric-ring style development is planned with "three mountains and one water" as its center for forming a spatial structure featuring one ring, three centers, three axises, and seven areas. Landmark functional building clusters around the lake: They form a series of functional blocks that improve the city's functions and images for centralized development that makes use of cluster advantages to build brand image. Development of a mountain parks chain: Three natural mountains will be developed into mountain parks and threaded with landscape corridors. This will become the green background of the entire project. Development of upland and lakeside residential quarters: Upland residential quarters will be developed to fulfill urban functions.
