The project, covering a planned floor space of about 5.79 square kilometers, stretches eastward to Yulong New Area, southward to Beiwaihuan Road, westward to Fuxin-Jinzhou Expressway, and northward to National Highway 101. It is planned to build the Fuxin Ecological Tourism Resort. The development of Songtaohu Ecological Tourism Area is based on the concept of natural green network and the core landscape elements of Lake Songtaohu and Chinese-Japanese Friendship Forest. Digitiform subordinate landscape venations are infiltrated into the internal of the site for optimizing the site's landscape value to form complete and continuous landscape ecological network. Three major green production themed development areas are planned and formed on the basis of primitivism and for the purpose of relaxation and threaded by waterscape and landscape galleries. The project is divided from south to north into landscape recreational holiday segment, health preserving tourism segment and countryside travel segment.
