October 17, 2015, Tsinghua University (THU) National Image Research Center and HMD jointly established "Institute for Creation of Cultural Spaces, Tsinghua & HMD", aiming at exploring the integration of academic research and commercial practices; and by building the dialogue and communication platform between public and private sectors, the institute is intended to improve the perception of government, enterprises, media and public on urban-rural space culture and image, and thus promoting the beneficial exploration in space image construction.

Professor Fan Hong, director of THU Image Research Center, deputy director of National Research Center of Cultural Industries in Tsinghua University, and Mr. Xu Shi, managing director of HMD, signed the cooperation documents. And Mr. Xu Shi was meanwhile appointed as a think tank expert of the new center.
